MathMates is Australian owned and operated. We are not a franchise but we are a dedicated, focused and service oriented organisation that puts the education of your children foremost.

We take our role as educators seriously and only employ staff are that are experienced Mathematics teachers that satisfy and hold current registration requirements from the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT). 

Our staff attend regular and ongoing professional development seminars and workshops regarding topics such as current curriculum direction and resourcing (Texts and ICT in the math classroom of today).

MathMates is a member of  The Mathematical Association of Victoria (MAV) and The Australian Association of Math Teachers (AAMT).

MathMates supports The Math Talent Quest (which encourages students to investigate some aspect of mathematics that interests them) by performing a voluntary judiciary role. 

Our Education Coordinator - Marsha Karanikos, is a qualified secondary school mathematics teacher and has taught in the USA at both primary and secondary school levels as well as tutoring mathematics at University level. Marsha also has extensive Business & Systems Analysis experience in the Information and Communications Technology industry in the USA and here in Melbourne.

Marsha is responsible for the coordination of all program material for each year level, tutorial objectives and associated activities. Marsha is the primary contact for parents and will happily organise a time to discuss your student's requirements and the benefits that MathMates tutorials will provide.
